SHORT ITINERARY

Day 1: Haridwar – Barkot (Drive 210 km / 7-8 hrs)

Pickup from Haridwar/Dehradun/Rishikesh.

Overnight stay and dinner.

 

Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (Drive + Trek)

Trek to Yamunotri Temple (6 km one-way) – the origin of River Yamuna.


Day 3: Barkot – Uttarkashi (Drive 100 km / 4-5 hrs)

 

Day 4: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (Drive 100 km each way)

Early drive to Gangotri Temple (3,048 m) – origin of River Ganga.

 

Day 5: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi / Sitapur (Drive 220 km / 8-9 hrs)

Overnight stay and trek preparation.

 

Day 6: Guptkashi – Kedarnath (Drive + Trek/Heli)

Drive to Gaurikund (30 km).

 

Day 7: Kedarnath – Guptkashi (Trek + Drive)

Early morning darshan.

Trek back to Gaurikund and drive to Guptkashi.

Overnight stay to rest after trek.

 

Day 8: Guptkashi – Badrinath (Drive 185 km / 8-9 hrs)

Drive to Badrinath, home of Lord Vishnu.

Overnight stay.

 

Day 9: Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag (Drive 160 km / 6-7 hrs)

 

Day 10: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh/Haridwar (Drive 160 km / 6 hrs)

Drive through beautiful hills and prayag confluences.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Embark on the ultimate spiritual journey through the four sacred shrines of Uttarakhand – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The Char Dham Yatra is not just a pilgrimage, it’s a life-changing experience in the lap of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Haridwar – Barkot (Drive 210 km / 7-8 hrs)

 

  • Pickup from Haridwar/Dehradun/Rishikesh.
  • Drive through Mussoorie with views of the Shivalik Hills.
  • Check-in at hotel in Barkot.
  • Overnight stay and dinner.

 

Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (Drive + Trek)

 

  • Early morning drive to Janki Chatti.
  • Trek to Yamunotri Temple (6 km one-way) – the origin of River Yamuna.
  • Darshan and sacred bath at the hot water kund.
  • Return to Barkot by evening.
  • Overnight stay.

 

Day 3: Barkot – Uttarkashi (Drive 100 km / 4-5 hrs)

 

  • Drive through scenic mountain roads to Uttarkashi, on the banks of the Bhagirathi River.
  • Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
  • Rest and prepare for next day’s journey to Gangotri.

 

Day 4: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (Drive 100 km each way)

 

  • Early drive to Gangotri Temple (3,048 m) – origin of River Ganga.
  • En route, witness Harsil Valley and Bhagirathi River views.
  • Perform puja and take a dip in the holy Ganga.
  • Return to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.

 

Day 5: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi / Sitapur (Drive 220 km / 8-9 hrs)

 

  • A scenic drive through Tehri Dam and Rudraprayag confluence.
  • Reach Guptkashi/Sitapur, base for Kedarnath.
  • Overnight stay and trek preparation.

 

Day 6: Guptkashi – Kedarnath (Drive + Trek/Heli)

 

  • Drive to Gaurikund (30 km).
  • Start trek to Kedarnath Temple (16 km) or take helicopter (optional).
  • Arrive at Kedarnath – one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
  • Attend evening aarti and stay in Kedarnath.

 

Day 7: Kedarnath – Guptkashi (Trek + Drive)

 

  • Early morning darshan.
  • Trek back to Gaurikund and drive to Guptkashi.
  • Overnight stay to rest after trek.

 

Day 8: Guptkashi – Badrinath (Drive 185 km / 8-9 hrs)

 

  • Drive to Badrinath, home of Lord Vishnu.
  • En route: visit Chopta (Mini Switzerland of India), and Narsingh Temple in Joshimath.
  • Reach Badrinath by evening for aarti.
  • Overnight stay.

 

Day 9: Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag (Drive 160 km / 6-7 hrs)

 

  • Visit Badrinath Temple, Mana Village (last village of India), Bhim Pul, and Saraswati River.
  • Begin return journey via Joshimath.
  • Overnight at Rudraprayag.

 

Day 10: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh/Haridwar (Drive 160 km / 6 hrs)

 

  • Drive through beautiful hills and prayag confluences.
  • Tour ends with blessings of the Char Dham.
  • Drop-off at Haridwar/Rishikesh/Dehradun railway station or airport.
