DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Sankri (1,920 M)

Travel: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri (200 km / 8–9 hrs)

Route: Scenic drive via Mussoorie, Purola, Mori along the Tons River

Stay: Guesthouse / Homestay

Meals: Dinner

Sankri is a beautiful village at the base of Govind Pashu Vihar National Park, known for being the trailhead of many legendary treks. Relax, acclimatize, and enjoy the mountain hospitality.

 

Day 2: Sankri to Taluka (2,107 M) – Trek to Seema / Osla (2,560 M)

Drive: 12 km / 1 hr to Taluka

Trek: 14 km / 6 hrs

Stay: Riverside Campsite / Homestay

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Begin with a short drive to Taluka, then trek through thick pine and deodar forests, crossing multiple wooden bridges and mountain streams. Pass through the charming villages of Gangaad and Osla, rich in local culture and legends of the Mahabharata.

 

Day 3: Seema to Har Ki Dun (3,566 M)

Trek: 12 km / 6–7 hrs

Stay: Campsite in the Har Ki Dun Valley

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A scenic trail opens into the magnificent Har Ki Dun Valley, surrounded by snow-capped peaks like Swargarohini and Hata Peak. Camp in the vast alpine meadow beside the river, one of the most iconic Himalayan campsites.

 

Day 4: Har Ki Dun to Ratha Tho (3,800 M)

Trek: 6 km / 4–5 hrs

Stay: Alpine campsite near glaciers

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, the trail becomes more remote and adventurous. Walk along moraines, river crossings, and glaciers as the valley narrows. The campsite at Ratha Tho offers panoramic views and a feeling of complete wilderness.

 

Day 5: Ratha Tho to Saunbhera (4,200 M)

Trek: 6 km / 4 hrs

Stay: Campsite near Saunbhera glacier field

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This stretch takes you deeper into high alpine territory. Snow bridges, boulder zones, and glacier-fed streams test your trekking endurance. Camp at Saunbhera, a dramatic glacial amphitheater beneath towering cliffs.

 

Day 6: Saunbhera to Borasu Pass Base Camp (4,800 M)

Trek: 5 km / 3 hrs

Stay: High-altitude base camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A shorter but steeper day. The altitude is challenging, and the terrain is rugged. The base camp sits just beneath Borasu Pass and prepares you for the most challenging day of the trek. Acclimatize and rest well.

 

Day 7: Base Camp – Cross Borasu Pass (5,450 M) – Descent to Bonga (4,000 M)

Trek: 13 km / 9–10 hrs

Stay: Campsite at Bonga (in Himachal region)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Start before dawn. The climb to Borasu Pass is steep and snow-covered, requiring use of ice axes and possibly ropes depending on conditions. At the summit, witness dramatic views into both Uttarakhand and Himachal. The descent into Kinnaur is sharp and rocky. You’ll enter a whole new landscape on the other side of the pass.

 

Day 8: Bonga to Chitkul (3,450 M)

Ending the Trek at chitkul say goodbye and take beautiful memories to home 🏡

Trek: 13 km / 6–7 hrs

Stay: Guesthouse in Chitkul that is your own cost not including the package (last village of India)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,

A beautiful and gradually descending trail that takes you through pine forests, grazing pastures, and vibrant wildflowers. You’ll reach Chitkul, the last inhabited village before the Indo-Tibetan border. Enjoy the wooden houses, local culture, and roaring Baspa River.

Bid farewell to the mountains with your heart full of adventure. From Chitkul, you can head toward Shimla, Manali, or arrange transport to Dehradun via Sangla and Rohru.
